Scarab Merlin XP Road Sweeper - Hydrostatic
GVW 7.5 Tonne - Single Engine Technology for a Cleaner World.
The design brief for the Merlin-XP was to create a road sweeper capable of extracting maximum efficiency and performance when mounted on a 7.5 tonne truck chassis. Because an auxiliary diesel engine pack only compromised an already precious payload capacity, we decided to rely on Scarab’s environmentally-friendly and well-proven Hydrostatic powerered sweeping system. This decision allowed us to maximise both hopper and water capacity while maintaining good weight distribution at all times. In standard trim, the Merlin XP’s 900 litre water tank, 5.5 m3 hopper and potential payload performance of between 2100 and 2300 kg, compares more than favourably with any other 7.5 tonne based street sweeper with the advantages of low fuel costs, low emissions

Scarab Merlin Road Sweeper - 10 to 16 Tonne GVW
Single Engine - Hydrostatic
The Scarab Merlin road sweeper is equally at home in municipal, urban or contracting activities, having been designed for mounting on a truck chassis in the 10 - 16 tonne GVW range, giving a potential payload of up to 7800 kg.
The Scarab designed hydrostatic system combines with our CANbus control system means this single engine road sweeper is easy to use, with a constant sweeping speed from zero up to 15-20mph whilst the chassis engine runs at an optimal 1200RPM this ensures long life, low fuel consumption and low emissions whilst still providing powerful suction performance.
CNG Powered Single Engine - Hydrostatic
The single-engine Scarab Merlin mounted onto a CNG chassis satisfies the need to have a street cleansing machine that operates solely on alternative fuel whilst also giving the benefits of reduced fuel costs combined with lower servicing and chassis maintenance costs. The Merlin CNG constitutes an economic, up-to-date and dependable alternative to diesel vehicles, improving both acoustic and gaseous emissions simultaneously.
The hybridization of Scarab's single engine design and CNG power arguably creates the cleanest truck mount sweeper available on the road today.
